Looking up Darji Mama: why I checked the artist credits

What made me look it up

I became curious about Darji Mama while looking for the song associated with Ankita. Before writing about its sound or its video, I wanted to establish something more basic: which catalogue release was I actually looking for?

I searched independently for Indian music-service listings rather than treating the discovery headline as evidence. The useful finding was a naming collision: Amazon Music India has entries for different artists under the same title.

This is a note about identifying the release, not a listening review. I have not used these catalogue entries to infer what the song sounds like.

What I could establish

Amazon Music India’s Ujjal Barman artist page lists Darji Mama as a single dated 1 September 2026, credited to Ujjal Barman, Ankita Bhattacharyya and Dibakar. I have retained the spelling “Bhattacharyya” used in that listing.

A separate Amazon Music India release page identifies Darji Mama by Bimla Bharti, dated 18 November 2024.

These are the service’s release listings. They do not, by themselves, establish a video’s upload date or a relationship between the two recordings.

How that changes an actual search

Hypothetical example: suppose I am trying to find the release credited to Ankita, but a search returns the Bimla Bharti page first. The title matches, yet the artist credit does not. I would not use that page’s date or other details to describe the Ankita-associated release.

My decision order is therefore title → artist credits → release date. Here, the artist field changes the decision: it separates the two entries before I borrow any information from either. The date is an additional cross-check, not the reason to assume two songs are connected.

That is more useful to me than searching the title alone. It also prevents a specific writing mistake: attaching the earlier entry’s release information to the later artist grouping.

What I looked for beyond the title

I also wanted to know whether the catalogue evidence supported calling this a Bongmedia production or describing it as rap. The confirmed information above does not settle either point. Nor does it establish songwriting roles, lyrics, video participants or popularity.

I would need primary credits directly addressing those questions before adding them. For now, my takeaway is deliberately narrower: the Indian catalogue lists a Darji Mama single with Ankita Bhattacharyya among three credited artists, and another same-title release should not be mistaken for it.
