S. A. Chandrasekhar: following the director credits, not just the name

Why I looked him up

S. A. Chandrasekhar’s name caught my attention, and I wanted something more concrete than a passing reference. I kept this search to his film work: which titles could I connect to an explicit director credit on a service provider’s own website?

This is a catalogue-based research note, not a review. I have not watched these films for this piece or tested whether they currently play on an Indian account.

What I could establish

On its S A-chandrasekhar page, Eros Now explicitly credits him as director for these entries:

That gave me a small, traceable starting point rather than a sweeping account of his career. The years above are Eros Now’s catalogue labels; I am not treating them as independently verified release histories.

Eros Now’s separate movie-results page for his name also lists these titles. That is another page from the same provider—not independent corroboration.

The checklist I ended up using

The useful distinction for me was between a page matching a name and an entry actually assigning a film credit. These catalogue pages contain mixed results, so I used this reading checklist:

• Check the title-level credit. I included a film only where the entry explicitly named S. A. Chandrasekhar as director.
• Keep the catalogue’s wording visible. I retained the listed titles and labelled the years as catalogue information instead of silently presenting them as a definitive filmography.
• Separate credits from access. A listing supports what the provider says about a film; it does not, by itself, establish current playback availability, subscription requirements or pricing in India.
• Do not count repeated listings as separate confirmation. Both sources here belong to Eros Now.

This is my method for interpreting these pages, not a checklist issued by the platform.

What I looked into next

I checked the separate movie-results page because I was curious whether a name search would give me a clean list of his directing work. It did not justify that assumption: the results include similarly named people and unrelated entries.

That changed how I read the page. I would not copy everything beneath the name into a filmography. The explicit director field matters more than the search-page heading.

My takeaway

I came away with a modest answer: Eros Now directly attributes the three films above to S. A. Chandrasekhar as director. That is enough for a starting reading list, but not enough to rank his work, explain its influence or recommend an Indian streaming subscription.

For this note, I would rather keep those boundaries visible than turn a few catalogue entries into a biography they cannot support.
