Pakistan vs England: the fixture and India viewing details I could verify

Why I looked this up

The phrase “pakistan vs england” caught my attention, but it did not answer what I actually wanted to know: which fixture was involved, and what could I establish about watching from India?

I checked the ECB’s fixture page and the broadcasters’ own announcements. This is a note on what those documents support—not a live score update or a claim that I tested a stream.

What I could pin down

The ECB’s 2026 tickets page lists the following England men’s home Tests against Pakistan:

These are scheduled match windows, not evidence that each Test lasted the full window. The September fixture is the Edgbaston Test; the schedule alone does not establish its score, playing XI or whether play is currently under way.

That distinction helped me keep this search focused. A fixture page answers “which match?” without necessarily answering “what is happening in it?”

What the India viewing announcements actually cover

Sony’s own ECB announcement, dated 10 August 2022, covers television and digital rights in India for England’s senior men’s and women’s home internationals. Pakistan is expressly included among the visiting opponents. It names Sony’s sports channels and SonyLIV as distribution platforms.

However, that is a rights-package announcement, not a confirmed listing for this particular Test.

I also found a later JioStar–Sony announcement dated 26 May 2025. It assigns JioHotstar streaming for India’s tours of England in 2025 and 2026, while Sony retains television rights. Its scope is India’s tours—not every match hosted by England.

My decision checklist is therefore about what each document proves:

A practical example: choosing where to look before paying

Hypothetical situation: I already have access to JioHotstar and remember an announcement about England cricket. I am deciding whether that settles my Pakistan–England viewing plans.

The condition that changes the answer is the touring team. JioStar’s announcement specifies India’s tours. Substituting Pakistan would broaden its stated scope, so I cannot use that announcement to assume this match is included.

Sony’s announcement gives me a relevant platform to investigate because it expressly includes Pakistan within England’s home-cricket package. But I would still need a current, match-specific listing and applicable access terms before making a purchase decision. The sources here do not establish a subscription price, entitlement or successful playback, so I am not recommending a purchase.

What I checked more closely

The announcements also describe different end dates for Sony’s underlying rights: the older Sony release says through 2028, while the newer JioStar release describes an agreement through 2031. Neither page explains that difference. I would not combine them into a single reconstructed contract history.

For my original question, the useful finding is narrower: the ECB identifies the September fixture, Sony’s announcement explicitly includes Pakistan in its England home-cricket coverage, and the JioHotstar sharing announcement is specific to India’s tours. A confirmed match listing remains separate evidence—and I have not established one here.
