Why I looked this up

Looking into ट्रैक्टर, I found myself asking a narrower question: what actually changes between Mahindra’s 475 DI XP Plus and 575 DI XP Plus?

I wanted to compare something more useful than the numbers in their names. So I read Mahindra’s Indian product pages side by side. This is a desk-research note, not a driving review or a claim that either tractor suits every farm.

The useful difference—and the shared specification

These are the figures and options listed on the official 475 DI XP Plus page and 575 DI XP Plus page:

My main takeaway is specific: the 575 has the higher published PTO-power figure, but not a higher published hydraulic lifting capacity. These pages do not establish that it is better for every job.

The matching transmission and clutch entries also have limits. “Single / Dual” lists alternatives; it does not tell me which clutch a particular tractor offered for sale will have. I would leave that as an unresolved specification rather than assume both options are included.

Applying the figures to a real buying question

Here is a hypothetical example, not an equipment recommendation.

Suppose a reader is comparing these tractors for an implement whose documentation explicitly requires at least 40 HP at the PTO. That threshold is an assumption for this example, not a requirement published on either tractor page.

Against that assumed requirement, the 475’s listed 39.2 HP falls below the threshold, while the 575’s listed 42 HP clears it. The identical 1500 kg lifting-capacity figures would not change that particular comparison: they describe a different specification.

But clearing this one threshold would not establish complete implement compatibility. Neither of these tractor pages verifies the hypothetical implement. My conclusion would therefore be “the 575 passes this paper check”, not “buy the 575”.

Now change the reader’s question: suppose the only reason for considering the 575 is an expectation of greater hydraulic lifting capacity. The published figures provide no support for that expectation. That is a useful reason to pause before treating the higher model number as a universal upgrade.

What I checked further

I also looked at the FAQs, and found reasons not to copy every answer into a comparison.

On the 575 page, the main specifications list four cylinders, but a cylinder FAQ says three. On the 475 page, some FAQ entries refer to 415 models instead. I have not treated those misplaced answers as specifications for the tractors here.

Those inconsistencies would make me seek clarification before relying on the affected details. They do not, by themselves, prove that every other figure is wrong.

My shortlist decision order

I would use this comparison in the following order:

  1. Write down the actual requirement. In the hypothetical example, that is a stated PTO-power threshold—not a general preference for a larger model number.
  2. Compare the corresponding published specification. A matching lifting-capacity figure cannot settle a PTO-power question.
  3. Keep unresolved details visibly unresolved. The supplied clutch option, conflicting FAQ details and compatibility with a specific implement still need confirmation.

For me, the value of this research was separating a documented difference from an assumed upgrade. The two pages support a focused specification comparison—not a blanket verdict on which tractor someone should buy.
